Dave is the Head of Policy & Research at Wind Energy Ireland. A member of WEI’s senior leadership team, Dave leads the Policy & Research department in driving policy development, evidence-based analysis and research activity across all aspects of the onshore and offshore renewable industry in Ireland. He is a board member of Energy Cloud Ireland and chairs the Energy, Environment and Climate Action division at Engineers Ireland. Dave joined Wind Energy Ireland in 2021 to establish a new research function for the trade association. The research team is currently delivering on several collaborations with universities and third-level clusters on skills development, education and research. Dave previously spent eight years with EirGrid, Ireland's transmission system operator, across grid delivery, network planning, power system operations and energy markets. Dave graduated from University College Cork with a first class honours degree in Energy Engineering, and has completed post graduate qualifications in professional engineering, project and programme management and Six Sigma.
