As the client inspector at Sellafield I covered all aspects of inspection. Material and consumable certification, Quality plans, Inspection test plans, Welder Qualifications & Procedures, iso-metric drawing, witnessing inspections being carried out in accordance with appropriate specifications and standards, final line punching, reviewing Lifetime records. I also produced several Corrosion Mapping Phased array set ups on behalf of the Asset care group. This was then used by asset care engineers to evaluate the life expectancy of in service pipelines and vessels.

• Client Inspector for Noble Energy witnessing pressure tests at Oliver ValvesIn this role I witnessed FAT testing of 2 subsea gate valves at Oliver Valvetek, checking all procedures were adhered too, all paperwork and calibration certificates for equipment used in the tests were in date and acceptable. Hydrostatic testing, Helium gas testing & continuity testing in accordance with FAT procedure were witnessed and a final report submitted to Noble Energy after the testing was completed.

Ferrybridge Power Station Castleford

NDT Supervisor on the CCGT project in Ferry Bridge for Hitachi.Duties included supervision of 6 man day crew of ultrasonics MPI,DPI,visual inspection of all welds. Supervision of 3 radiography crews on night shifts. Co-ordination of radiography workplace and issuing relevant permits required for each crew,reviewing all radiography graphs and reports before submission to end client.

I worked for ITCL for five years, within this job role I developed my knowledge in non-destructive testing - NDT. carrying out all aspects of non-destructive testing. Ultrasonic thickness surveys, corrosion monitoring, scanning of volumetric welds and lamination checks. Mpi on volumetric welds, structural steelwork, lifting eyes and air ducting seam welds and butt welds. Radiographic interpretation of graphs to BSEN and ASME standards. Borascope work on heat exchangers. Hardness testing On P91 & P22 pipework. Visual inspection on all welds. I am currently in charge of a number of NDT senior technicians from ITCL and have also been running two phased array crews for Fabricom GDF-Suez to cover the pre-site fabrications and site welds using phased array technology.I have worked on numerous sites and projects over the years which included:• Phased array for Murphy’s on the Gwent reinforcement project. • Phased array for Fabricom on the stored energy project in Cheshire.• Phased array for Murphy’s AGI refurbishment project west wales.• Phased array for Spiecapag UK on the Carrington gas pipeline.Part of a 2 man team performing manual phased array using Omniscan equipment and Flexi-scanner on main gas lines, feeder lines and AGI diversion lines. Lead technician for scanning and interpreting data using Tomoview software• NDT technician on Uskmouth Seven Power CCGT construction project for Siemens.• NDT technician on the CCGT project in Sheffield for PJD.
