I held the post of Development Manager, managing the team responsible for the development, product verification, maintenance and support of all in-house developed software products. I also managed the product release and customer trial processes. I oversaw Computer Telephone Integration projects targeting Windows 95 and Windows NT through to 2000, XP, 7, Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008. I was involved at all levels of the development cycle from initial requirements capture and feature description through to product verification test plans and customer trial plans.ITEL also sold software products that have been written by external software suppliers. These products often required modifications such as Anglicisation, integrating to the ITEL proprietary licensing modules, changes to branding and livery, etc. These activities were conducted by the external supplier’s development teams but I project managed the processI liaised directly with end-customers at a technical level and managed technical relationships with distributors. These included major industry players such as Nortel, Avaya, BT, Bell Canada, etc. I travelled to represent ITEL in Europe, Scandinavia, America, Canada, Kuwait, Oman, etc. I was periodically called upon as the last line of defence to perform trouble-shooting site visits to the highest profile and most sensitive escalations from distributors. As well as fault-find the issue I had to manage both the end user relationship and the distributor relationship. I was responsible for the ITEL ISO 9001:2008 quality system. I managed to gain ITEL Silver ISV status in the Microsoft Partner Network in a little under three weeks.
