Dave is the Managing Director of Mankind Venture Group (MvG), a private investment group focused on the advanced research and development of novel technologies that augment human and artificial intelligence. Prior to co-founding MvG in 2014, Dave was a management consultant advising senior executives at leading global technology companies, private equity funds and government agencies on corporate strategy, long-range technology strategy and planning, strategic partnering, organization design, process improvement and high-risk program and project management. Prior to his career in consulting and finance, Dave served in the U.S. Military and Intelligence Community. As an Infantry Officer and Army Ranger, Dave deployed to eastern Afghanistan in 2006 and was assigned command responsibility over what was at the time the most strategically imperative area of operations. There, he led an elite tactical mountain unit on continuous direct action and reconnaissance missions. In recognition of particular effectiveness against a relentless and ruthless enemy, Dave and his unit were awarded the Army citation for valor.Dave is a former All-American lacrosse player, national champion and top-5 national D1 recruit. In 2010, Dave was selected to the Belgian National Lacrosse Team and later served as the team's Captain at both the 2012 European Championships and the 2014 World Championships. Dave has extensive international experience in over 50 countries, including residence on five different sub-continents. In particular, between 1999-2013, Dave lived in Shanghai for a combined six years, during which he was a student, economic research fellow, management consultant and fund manager. Dave speaks fluent Mandarin Chinese. Dave loves everything about his work but when he's forced to do other things, he's most content skiing down Alpine couloirs, questing throughout LA by bike, coaching youth lacrosse and participating in stimulating discussions at nearby Caltech.
