Currently working as IT Manager overseeing multiple Epic analytics and reporting teams with ~16 direct reports (largest team in the department) in a large multi hospital health system with extensive ambulatory, custody and retail pharmacy operations. Direct reports consist of managers/team leads, senior level developers and operational staff. Team functional areas vary widely and consist of waiver program reporting (QIP), pharmacy reporting (including inpatient, outpatient, retail, custody and 340B), and infrastructure (ticketing triage, server maintenance/best practices and lights on doors open operations). As a data engineer for a large hospital system in the bay area, I work on a variety of projects and systems to ensure our data warehouse is accurate and complete and is able to provide the tools necessary to executives, providers and staff to easily review their performance in a variety of metrics.Using ETL processes, SQL, Mirth and other tools, I ingest data from a variety of sources (NextGen, Meditech, Soarian, payer data, and more). The data is then normalized as much as possible and output in various formats depending on the needs. A lot of emphasis is currently on government reporting and building complex metrics for programs such as PRIME, QIP, HPAC and others. Reports/process measures are also developed along with the reporting metrics to identify opportunities for improvements so that management and staff may take action and improve patient care through the analysis of data.
