Being in the firearms industry for over 35 years, i decided to go out on my own and follow my dream. In January of 2012 I purchased Frank O'Reilly's Sports Store in Melbourne and restructured it to what customers need, great service, quality products at competitive prices. On the 24th Nov 2012 i officially open the largest Gunshop in Australia. Abela's Superstore is a 1200 sq mtr building housing all your shooting needs. Mid 2015 I decided i needed to try a new angle and join the team at Outdoor Sporting Agencies distributing a great range of products to be their Marketing and Events Manager. I went on to work for Spika as the NSW, WA and NT Sales Representative, not long after become events manager and warranty manager, personally servicing and repairing safes and managing returns. In 2019 i left Spika to an early retirement although after attending esCarpade (Camp Quality car rally) raising money for Camp Quality who care for kids facing cancer i became a volunteer and attend kids and family camps making sure these kids have as much fun and laughter as possible. Since then with my partner we have begun a fundraising campaign (Dave’s Spika Roadshow) where we purchase stock from Spika and sell it at events around the state with all proceeds going to Camp Quality.
