Worked as a hydrographic surveyor on the river Shannon in the midlands of Ireland, surveying river sections for the purpose of generating flood models. A variety of surveying techniques were deployed, in conjunction with the latest surveying instrumentation to capture the data.The project was coordinated by the Office of Public Works (OPW) who are the lead agency for flood risk management in Ireland.

Worked in the Survey and Mapping Division, within the Environment and Engineering Department at Dublin City Council head office.Land Surveying Duties:• To assist with providing a surveying service and legal mapping service to City Council departments, Area Offices, and Project Teams for civil engineering projects, regeneration projects, and property acquisition and disposals.• To provide surveying, legal mapping and related advisory services to consultants and external solicitors engaged by the City Council.• To investigate encroachments, define boundaries, and advise on boundary disputes relating to City Council property.• To assist in checking extent of property title for the Law, Housing and Development departments with the City Council.Administrative Duties:• To set up and maintain a database for all historical mapping relating to City Council property.• To maintain a digital Cabinet system within the office whereby all incoming job files and outgoing mapping and documentation was recorded and stored.• To manage a digital ‘Logix’ system which recorded and detailed all outgoing costs from the Survey and Mapping Division within the City Council.
