Having founded Vectis in 2002 as an online retailer specialising in the supply of gifts, home and garden and clothing products, the business has grown from a start-up to a turnover of £1million. As the business expanded and turnover increased, Vectis transferred from a partnership to Thorness Limited in 2013 to facilitate further growth and expansion.Products are brought to market via a number of online sites including eBay, Amazon and the companies own website as well as through traditional paper-based catalogues, currently over 1,500 products are in the Thorness product range.Working closely with key software partners such as Channel Advisor and AIMCO, Thorness have been able to develop efficient systems for order processing and management with a key focus onto providing outstanding customer care which is at the central core of the success of the Thorness brand.Key responsibilities include In-depth understanding of the eBay and Amazon platforms Critical path project management of product sourcing through to marketing Development and management of outstanding customer care programmes Management of key performance indicators within the business Financial forecasting and management Brand design and management

In May 2002, I founded Vectis as initially a paper-based mail order company, recognising quickly the opportunity for developing an online business, Vectis made its first online sale through the eBay platform on the 28th May 2002 an electronic screwdriver.The business continued to grow over the forthcoming years from a turnover in its first year of £100k to £250K in its second year, the business further expanded in 2004 when it became a partnership, developing a distribution base in Somerset to support its growing administration base in Hampshire.In 2007 I was approached by ADM Promotions to head up a marketing campaign for Castrol's sponsorship of the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ which I took up maintaining a reduced role in Vectis during this time.

Parsons International was a global provider of promotional merchandise for well-known brands such as Avon, Coca-Cola, Nestle and the mail order sector.My role was to secure business with the UK mail order sector which Parsons had little share of in 1997, building relationships with brands such as Grattan, Freemans, la Redoute and Cotton Traders I was able to develop this business successfully to a turnover of £6mDevelopment of and implementation of marketing campaigns with these brands to include customer loyalty and retention programs was a key aspect in my success in this role.

Rocket badge is one of the leading suppliers of enamel badges within the UK, established in 1987 the company had little structure or marketing strategy when I joined.My role was to introduce a new sales structure to the company and to focus the sales teams towards new and ambitious sales goals whilst developing and implementing a marketing strategy.The business growth was significant from £1 million in 1992 to over £6million in 1997, The successful implementation of new marketing strategies meant that by the end of 1997, Rocket badge were the industry leaders working with over 50% of the top 100 UK companies.

Hallmark cards are the Worlds leading supplier of quality greeting cards and gifts.Joining in 1987 as a sales person I became the companies leading salesperson being awarded the prestigious title of European sales person of the year in 1990. Following a successful period in sales training, I moved into their marketing department in 1991. My key role was the establishment and implementation of the Gold Crown store marketing program which saw the first Hallmark branded stores in the UK. Working closely and being mentored by Don Hall the grandson of the founder of Hallmark cards this was a truly inspiring role and ignited my passion for marketing and excellence
