Coordinates the Brownfield Projects portfolio of Shell's Groundbirch and Gold Creek assets, supporting our Integrated Gas organization. Projects pertain to pipelines, wells, gas processing facilities, and other surface infrastructure, and span all technical disciplines. Full project life-cylce managed by the Brownfield Team, from opportunity/threat identification and problem-solving, to concept select and detailed design, and through to execution and close-out. Leverages contract project engineers to deliver 20+ annual projects ranging from $50k-$3 million, as well as EPC services.

Site-based Reliability Engineer supporting the Vaca Muerta shale oil play, in Neuquen, Argentina. Supports and coaches local staff in developing local reliability processes, including maintenance optimization, reliability data collection and analysis, and threat/opportunity management.Heavily in applying Causal Learning through various equipment failure investigations, and in developing a Causal Learning culture.Has learned Spanish during the course of the role.

Site-based Reliability Engineer supporting shale oil assets in Fox Creek and Grande Prairie. Developed and implemented processes for maintenance optimization, data reporting and analysis, and threat/opportunity management. Heavily integrated with Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering teams.Involved heavily in applying Causal Learning through various equipment failure investigations, and developing a Causal Learning culture.

Worked as site-based Operations Engineer in Edson, AB, supporting Shell's plays in the Duvernay and Montney basins. Generalist scope, completing a variety of small surface projects involving piping modifications, electrical and instrumentation work, construction, and commissioning and startup. Supported plant operations, well sites, pumpjack installs, and water transfer infrastructure.Strong HSE focus, both in terms of process safety and heavy involvement in the Behavioural Based Safety processes.

The chief financial authority for the Engineering Undergraduate Society of McGill University, which represents approximately 3000 engineering students. Duties included managing over $2 million in cash flows, budgeting for the society, structuring and administering funds, managing contracts with two full-time employees, and increasing sponsorship for the society. Managed and structured financial procedures for over 50 groups included under the umbrella of the EUS. Also managed multiple committees and provided support for other activities of the society.

Summer Co-Op Student in the Severe Accidents Section of the Fuel and Fuel Channel Safety Branch of AECL's Chalk River Laboratories. Researched fission product releases from a terminal debris bed in a calandria vessel in a hypothetical severe accident scenario for a CANDU reactor. Co-authored paper in the Canadian Nuclear Review based on research (https://pubs.cnl.ca/doi/full/10.12943/CNR.2015.00056).Assisted in other projects undertaken by the Severe Accidents Section.

Coordinated a 13 member council which represents the interests of over 700 undergraduate mechanical engineering students at McGill. Ensured that council member were performing their duties, and that the MAME was fulfilling its mandate of providing academic, social, and professional events and services to students. During the term, the MAME ran over 30 events, including industry tours, software tutorials, and a holiday banquet, which benefited hundreds of students.Also represented mechanical engineering undergraduates to university administrators, and sat on the council of the Engineering Undergraduate Society of McGill University.

Researched the technical feasibility of using conversion kits to adapt gasoline vehicles for use with methanol-blended fuels, as well as determining necessary adaptations needed to make service stations capable of safely dispensing methanol fuel according to relevant standards. Also contacted a variety of suppliers capable of providing the necessary equipment.

Involved in budgeting and planning for the MAME’s finances, as well as handling floats and expenses claims and seeking out sponsorship. Pursued initiatives beyond mandate, including organizing a design software tutorial series, an income tax workshop, and coordinating website content.

Managed the EUS’s five publications, working with their chairs and acting as chair where positions were vacant. Completed the EUS Handbook (an agenda planner and guidebook with distribution of 1200) as de facto editor, cleared a two-year Yearbook backlog, and founded The Plumber’s Ledger to satisfy student demand for a general-interest paper.

Worked as general labour assisting a group of millwrights in the flash furnaces building of the Sudbury nickel smelter complex. Work mainly consisted of cleaning and organizing, often using a forklift or pickup truck. Maintained safe work practices in an environment that was often hazardous due to heat, noise, dust, and heavy equipment.
