About David Bark
Hey! Welcome to the profile. You're in the right place. You've probably got a full schedule, so finding a good copywriter – someone you can rely on to ease your marketing burden – is a smart call.I write targeted copy and content that gives your prospect every reason to engage with you. I speak to them in your voice – with honesty – combining logic and emotion that will make you their go-to.When you're ready, we can:• Build relationships with your customers through blog articles, allowing them to see who you truly are, and what you're all about.• Keep in touch with your prospects – and keep your business front of mind – with newsletters and emails.• Optimize your website to effectively sell what you work so hard to create..• Showcase how you can help via case studies, letting your current customers be the guide on a deeper tour of what you have to offer. And that's just for starters...Good copywriting has a goal and a strategy to meet that goal. It has measurable results. Together, we're going to meet your audience where they are, with a level of understanding and authenticity they'll appreciate. If you do business, working with me is going to make your life a little easier.Give me a call today at 313 595-7422, or reach out to dmchord@comcast.net. Let's work together to turn your prospects into lifelong customers.*The "Un-Salesy" About Section: Copywriting is how I pay the bills. When it's time for a break, these are a few of my favorite things: I really dig road trips (Pacific Coast, Glacier, North Cascades, etc.), and even when time is short I'm liable to hop on the bike and get some wind therapy for an hour or two.Cell phones are pretty miraculous, but there's something about the feel of an actual camera in my hands and just the right lens... so you'll often find me taking pictures of...whatever.I've never heard of a writer who wasn't first an avid reader. I suspect that's where we get the nudge. I've always got a book or three nearby, and these days I'm diving into anything from John Connolly to John Irving, and from Kristin Hannah to Margaret Atwood. I'm a sucker for a well-told story!

Advanced Technical Support/Retention
At Xfinity Mobile, I used my technical skills to diagnose customer issues, and then outline a course of action. I leveraged CRM and RSSX on my end, or guided the customer through the process on their end, to get things back to good.My department was the last house on the block, so my customers received the white glove treatment. No stone was left unturned when it came to resolving their issues and transforming them into Xfinity ambassodors.

In North Idaho, Tony's on the Lake is hands down the best Italian restaurant in the area. (If not the best restaurant, period.) A fixture in this resort town since 1952, the food and atmosphere is perfect for locals sharing a celebratory evening. The restaurant also seems to entice many of the movie stars, musicians, and celebrities du jour who flock to our city on the lake to play.Tony's sits right on Lake Coeur d'Alene, with epic views over the water from the both the outdoor patio, and the giant windows in the bar and dining room. Most guests arrive at Tony's after a scenic, two-mile ride along Coeur d'Alene Lake Drive. Adventurous guests park their boats at the spacious dock outside, and come in to relax after a day in the sun.Tony's is and always has been a family-owned restaurant, and while the chef is never shy about exploring new and modern flavors, many of these old-world recipes have been passed down for generations. I probably would have worked there just for the lasagna alone! (And the view!)So while I was there, I took care of all those people. Because that's really what it's all about, isn't it? You talk about food, you talk about wine, and you make people happy. It was a great introduction to my new life in the PNW.
Producer/Director
Lightshine Productions was my first foray into entrepreneurship. If you're reading this LinkedIn profile, you get the gist...I've got a creative side. I've always been a writer and a passable musician. Professionally, it started with graphic design. Then I got my hands on a video camera! It changed my life. The visual storytelling possibilities were endless. I could make a business owner come alive on the screen, and was able to put the coolest aspects of a product or service out there in living color. So that's what I did.Lightshine was a smallish operation. I hired crew when I needed them, but a lot of the time I wore ALL the hats. Scriptwriter, producer, director, camera op, editor... you name it. Then I visited Coeur d'Alene, and the Pacific Northwest just called to me. It's so beautiful out here, I couldn't stay away! So I packed up and made the move, and took one step closer to my life as a professional writer. You can still find me filming subjects that I find intriguing, or stories that I think need to be told. Or just taking up the drone and getting gorgeous aerial shots of the mountains. I may have put Lightshine Productions to bed, but filming and editing is always going to one of my creative outlets.
Graphic Design Artist
The Advisor & Source is community newspaper serving northern Macomb county in the Detroit Metro area. It wasn't built to compete with the Detroit Free Press, or The News, but we still had plenty to say.Prior to coming on board, I'd been doing a bit of freelance design - business cards, brochures, flyers - so I knew my way around Photoshop and InDesign. The Advisor & Source gave me the opportunity to do what I enjoyed, a steady paycheck, and health insurance! (Adventurous twenty-something's definitely need health insurance!) I worked with our sales reps and clients to create print ads for publication in the paper. Basically, they gave me a rough idea of what they wanted to say, or what they needed to sell, and I sourced photos, designed logos, created art, and built the ad.After a while, in addition to my usual design duties, I was entrusted with what's known as "dummying" the entire paper. So, after everyone went home, they would leave me with a general idea of what they wanted the paper to look like as far as story placement, and I would build blocks to digitally arrange all the copy and advertising in each section to make it all work. Then, with each digital ad and story assigned to a specific block, I would flow the content into those blocks and...presto! One newspaper, ready for printing!I have very fond memories of that job. The camaraderie we shared building ads during the day, and even the one or two late nights on my own each week (remember, bit of an introvert), putting it all together for printing in the morning. And then someone told me how much money I could make in the hospitality industry...
