Franchise Development Services was a franchise consultancy company, helping clients to develop their business into franchises, help existing franchisors improve their businesses and promote the availability of franchise territories in the UK and worldwide via various websites. As Database Coordinator, I was responsible for maintaining the database of the company’s clients, including adding new records, updating existing records and data cleansing when necessary. I provided the company owners with detailed management information reports on the data stored in the client database, as well as the database of registered user of the company’s various websites. I was also responsible for coding email marketing campaigns in html from scratch for the company’s clients and for advertising the services of the company. I also performed other office-based tasks, such as filing, covering the main telephone line over the lunch period and engaging with the clients when they had queries about the databases or the email marketing campaigns.

Modern Reward Strategy (MRS) project - MRS was about making NCC’s pay and conditions framework fair and clear and ensuring everyone is paid the same for equivalent work. The strategy addressed 16,000 employees and 20,000 jobs. I was responsible for coding the T-SQL scripts which calculated the revised spinal point and salary that the employees should be placed on when transferring to the live system, based on rules determined by the organisation. I was also responsible for maintaining the SQL database of employee data, including output in a form others could use, maintaining spreadsheets on the job evaluation results, and providing statistics on how many jobs were still to be fully evaluated and how many employees still need to be matched to a job evaluation for each department. Prepared test cases to ensure that the data to be made live was accurate and reflected the rules given by the organisation, helped to answer queries from the departments or employees on the outcome of the project, and made regular backups of all the data and scripts used.
