Working together with Product, Legal, Risk and Front line teams, simplified and updated the core trade terms and conditions executed with clients across the 40+ sites that the products are offered in. Simplifying the customer documentation down to a set of online standardised terms available on the internet, applicable across all sites. Products covered by the terms included, letters of credit, performance and shipping guarantees, collections, bill discounting and trade loans, generating circa 2USDbn of revenue a year for the leading trade finance bank in the world by market share. Dealing with the complexities of local regulations, market requirements, language and culture, lead the programme in an agile manner to ensure that resources were always allocated to areas where progress was possible and not held up by local restrictions. This ensured a pipeline of circa 10 sites a year were delivered. Concurrently bank wide platforms were updated to reference the new terms and simplify the journey and offering to the customer, also addressing a number of identified outstanding business risks. This work had to be closely co-ordinated with the technology teams release timeframes to ensure a smooth transition for customers onto the new terms. The terms continue to be a success and have resulted in the unlocking of complexity that has allowed a wider simplification of internal processes and systems that has been undertaken as part of a business wide digital transformation programme.

Project engineer on the BP project - South Caucuses Pipeline Expansion. A project that planned and executed a 500km pipeline expansion across Azerbaijan and Georgia delivering natural gas from the Caspian to Europe through Turkey. upgrading the capacity by 16 billion cubic metres per year (bcma). The project included the construction of 2 new compressor stations in Georgia and six block valve installations.Working within the contracts teams for CB&I as the engineering design organisation, we tendered and ran the technical element of the contractor selection process, working hand in hand with the BP team. Each bidder, from temporary works through to lead construction contractor, being evaluated for their understanding of the scope of works, competency, environmental understanding and safety record to ensure that contractor was selected in accordance with the BP strategy. Personally worked with the BP team on the main pipeline construction contractor selection process for an ultimate 850USDm contract award as part of the 4USDbn overall project value. Advanced 3 bidders through the selection process which took over a year, running concurrently to the design. Following award worked with BP and the selected contractor (Saipem) to handle design queries, contract clarifications and change requests, during mobilisation and initial construction phases. As the design was concurrent and delivered in an agile manner this required close co-ordination to ensure that value and quality of work was not compromised.

A Forming member of a specialist team that provided expertise, training and capability development to a high profile, route proving capability in the fight against the improvised explosive device (IED). Designed, prepared and conducted complex, highly realistic training in Europe, Jordan and USA. Required to ensure currency of the training of concepts and doctrine, are aligned to the fast pace of change experienced in Afghanistan.
