One door closed and another opened when I began employment with the New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities. During my legal career and as time allowed in other endeavors, I have always provided professional and volunteer services to those from under-represented/under-privileged/over-looked communities but I have never worked directly with this particular community. The work was gratifying and led to my joining Behavior Interventions, Inc. as Behavior Technician when I returned to Pennsylvania and there I spent a rewarding year working 1:1 with an elementary school austic boy and I believe the small step successes we had were among the most rewarding I have ever experienced in the job field. Now I am employed by the Vanguard School (where I had been working the past school year although as an agency employee) and look forward to working with the students as we learn from one another and seek to create a better tomorrow.
