Retail and Distribution Co-ordinator.I manage the online bookshop at Amnesty International UK. This operates from the Amnesty head office in Shoreditch and is run by a dedicated team of c.30 volunteers who sell books through Amazon and Abe.We acquire donations from publishers, companies and members of the public.My role also entails co-ordinating stock across the nine (and counting) Books for Amnesty shops across the UK, working closely with the book shop managers and wider Social Giving and Retail team.

On the opening team of the Leyton Star, one of the six venues of the fast growing East London based Electric Star Ltd. Shift manager, responsible for the site:- Opening of the venue- Organising bookings and parties- Stock- Customer service- Staff management- Cashing up and end of day report- Security of venue.

- New position to apply for grants from Trusts, Foundations and statutory sources.- Created a database (Salesforce) by researching potential donors using funding websites.- Planned an application timetable and strategically sent out requests to funding bodies to match their schedules and prioritised these through analysing the likelihood of support and the potential gift.- Carefully selected the relevant programmes and projects that were run by the charity to appeal to funders, including the type and size of ask. - Organised, attended and led meetings to secure funding.- Requests ranged from £5,000 - £400,000.

- Responsible for overseeing all realms of fundraising within the organisation with the vast majority being grants from Trusts and Foundations (c.75%). - Managed a team of three including myself - Trust Fundraising Officer and Community and Events Fundraiser. - Wrote funding requests to Major Donors to secure gifts - Trusts, Foundations and high net worth individuals - lifetime (£10K+) or specific gift (over £3K).- Arranged and attended meetings with Trusts, Foundations and high-net worth individuals to secure funding and report on funds received.- Organised events for Major Donors.- Signed off all applications for grants (range £500 - c.£100,000). - Worked with Corporate givers - included being the Charity of Year from a major international bank two years running - wrote application, organised and attended events, gave speeches and presentations.- Worked closely with the Family Liaison Officers and Director to create projects relating to the needs of the charity’s beneficiaries, which could realistically secure funding from multiple sources.- Planned annual budgets relating to income and expenditure.

- Planned and worked to a timetable of applications.- Monitored, managed and reported on projects to donors.- Applications were structured and detailed including the need, specific project/ask, short term objectives, long term outcomes and budgets.- Tailored asks adapted for potential donors, maximising their appeal and increasing income. - Wrote the application and presented to a major international bank which resulted in React being selected as a Charity of the Year and receiving £87,500 (reselected next year).- Secured multi-year grants including £36K over three years for holiday homes. - Reported monthly financial figures to the Director (income received and value of applications submitted).- In the financial year 1-Apr-14 to 31-Mar-15, Trusts and Foundations brought in £557,025 (target £420,000).

- Grew the charity’s support in the local SW London community by reaching out to the local network and writing and delivering speeches and presentations. - Arranged and held meetings to secure support including charity of the year or one off events.- Expanded Community Fundraising reach into further areas of the UK.

Soho

Flair bartender and mixologist providing high quality party experiences to all who entered the premises. Worked daily happy hours 2-4-1 in Soho 5pm-8pm; hosted cocktail masterclasses for hen, stag and office parties; worked the floor taking orders and delivering food and drinks for up to c.150 covers a lunchtime.
