Mr. Blakey brings over 35 years of real estate experience to Aligned Equity Partners; combining real estate acquisition, finance, development and sales, with an exceptional strength in innovative deal structure. Mr. Blakey formed Aligned Equity Partners for the purpose of creating a 1031 compliant investment vehicle that allows both the investor and the sponsor to share common objectives and focus the Sponsor’s compensation on result-oriented success-based property operations. In 1997, David founded Terra Equities, an Austin based firm specializing in residential and multi-use land acquisition and development. In that role, he focused specifically on the aggregation of large land parcels totaling over $100 million, navigating the entitlement process and culminating in the ultimate sale of the entitled land to developers. During 2007 and 2008, David assisted Mission Residential, where he identified and negotiated the acquisition of approximately $500 million worth of Multifamily Property. Prior to forming Terra Equities, he was a partner and officer in The Limestone Group, a multifamily development and construction company, where he was responsible for site selection and entitlement throughout the Houston, Dallas and Austin MSAs. Prior to joining Limestone Group, David was actively involved in commercial real estate in a variety of capacities including the investment and restructuring of various real property mortgage note instruments as these assets were liquidated by the successor to failed financial institutions. He Co-founded Commercial Realty Group, a full service brokerage firm in 1983, where he led the sales effort and managed the sales team. David holds a BBA in Real Estate and Finance from The University of North Texas and a Masters Degree in Spiritual Psychology from The University of Santa Monica.
