It was a wholly owned subsidiary of the publicly Howard Smith Ltd GroupKey Responsibilities• Leadership of a team of 15 professional staff and 150 operational staff in The Blackwood Group Finance and Accounting function.• Control of working capital comprising $100m of trade receivables and $160m of inventory.• The development of integrated management reporting systems • The financial evaluation of acquisition opportunities • Membership of the IT Steering Committee which developed strategic IT projects including the positioning of Blackwoods as a major provider of E-Commerce solutions for trading partners.Key Achievements• Re-structured high volume transactional processes (Accounts Payable / Payroll / Accounts Receivable) to Central Services model from Branch distributed model with saving of 90 admin staff which achieved a cost saving of $3 million p.a.• Managed the successful execution of 5 business acquisitions.
