Worked on numerous projects in various capacities relating to analysis of hotel performance data, as well as other industries. The most interesting projects to me were:* Performance Data Hub (Tech Lead): An in-house developed database specifically designed for calculating hotel performance data as fast as possible. It consisted of a suite of applications, but the core service was a C++ TCP service that used OpenCL to do the calculations on high-performance GPUs. Other tools in the suite we created used C#, Nuget, WPF, MVC, and WebAPI for communicating with and managing the service. I was the tech lead on this project.* Self-Storage (Tech Lead): an application for self-storage companies to analyze aggregated self-storage market data in a variety of ways for determining rates and how their company is performing against other self-storage companies. It was a SPA written in Chart.js, EmberJS, .Net WebAPI, and MsSQL. I designed the application’s initial architecture and worked with the team on extending it to meet client needs. I was also the tech lead on this project.

Jan 2015 - Present

Application Developer

The General Insurance

Bugfixes on the General’s 10+ year old online insurance quote system, written in J2EE, Spring, Struts 1 and DB2. (I was originally under the impression that this position would be more feature enhancements and work on the mobile site than it turned out to be, which is also the reason for such a quick separation.)

Oct 2014 - Nov 2014

Application Developer

Decision Source Incorporated

Contributed to development of an application for tracking the progress of the installation of Google Fiber in the various cities that it's being brought to. It was primarily a financial application for tracking money approved versus spent, but we were also adding in basic project management features to it as well. Technologies primarily used were C#, ASP.Net, MVC 4, Javascript, jQuery, D3, Knockout, Entity Framework, and MS-SQL. I personally worked on the entire stack fairly equally and also contributed to the design of the app. It was an Agile environment with a 3 week sprints, utilizing typical Agile technologies like source control (Git), continuous integration (Jenkins), feature/bug tracking (Pivotal Tracker), various mockup tools (mainly Balsamiq), and others.

Apr 2014 - Aug 2014

Application Developer

Nashville, Tn, Us

Part of a team developing the CareAlign Insight platform for analyzing at risk patients and alerting doctors when a patient is admitted to a hospital. Some technologies used were .Net WebAPI RESTful services, Marklogic NoSQL database, Autofac IoC. I personally worked on the entire stack, except for writing the Marklogic querys (which were writen in XQuery). We had a couple application architects who did most of the overarching application design work, although the whole team, including myself, contributed to the design. I implemented those designs in accordance with best practices that we outlined for the application (which I also contributed to), trained more junior developers in how to best implement their portions of the application, and consulted with more senior developers than myself (when necessary) on how to best implement the parts of the application that I was assigned. It was an Agile environment with a 2 week sprints, utilizing usual Agile technologies like source control (Git), continuous integration (Team City), feature/bug tracking (Atlassian products), and others.

Apr 2013 - Apr 2014

Provides streamlined driver routing and basic CRM functionality for sales agents. Freelance It Support And Consultation

Satellite Beach, Florida, Us

Everything from fixing individual’s computers to setting up company networks to developing web applications. Developed web applications using Javascript, DHTML, AJAX, JSON, XML, CSS, ASP.NET, PHP, and SQL, among others. Some clients were the Smyrna Holiday Inn Express, Mister B's carwash, Caddell's VMS, Computers Plus, and Rutherford County Adult Activity Center.

2009 - 2014 ~5 yrs

Software Developer

Nashville, Tn, Us

Acting effectively as the senior software developer, I worked with our clients to determine the business needs that an application had to meet and designed software solutions using a wide variety of frameworks, APIs, and software packages to meet those needs, in addition to maintaining and improving existing applications. I would design an application, setup the environment, implement much of the lower level core functionality, and supervise the other developers on my team on implementing the remaining functionality to our applications. We employed a lot of interns and developers fresh out of college, and it was also my job to train them and get them up to speed on our applications. Used a variety of technologies including C#, ASP.Net, MVC, WebAPI, PHP, Wordpress, MSSQL, MySQL and Fluent NHibernate, Ninject IoC, and others on a variety of Windows and Unix platforms. While it was not a strictly Agile development process, we employed a lot of Agile processes such as source control (via Git), iterative development with short deployment cycles (usually 2-3 weeks) and a fast paced collaborative environment.
