David M. Brian, P.E. began working in the electric utility industry some thirty-five years ago as a part time cooperative employee with Georgia Power Company while attending Georgia Tech. Over the course of his consulting career at GDS, David has managed a wide range of projects, assisting cooperative and municipal utilities across the country with buying and selling power. His work has included wholesale power supply planning and contract negotiation, transmission access and pricing, risk management, wholesale and retail rates, and market power analysis. In addition, David has assisted clients with various financial matters including power plant and transmission facilities financing, financial analysis and forecasting, and natural gas hedging. In recent years, David has assisted clients with renewable power solicitations and the development of solar power strategies. David is a native of the Atlanta, Georgia area, and he holds a Master of Science degree in Finance from Georgia State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
