Engaged to provide support for a wide range of disk and tape based storage systems as part of a geographically diverse team. Responsible for providing support for day to day running of various storage systems and providing storage solutions to new clients. • Identified, implemented and migrated data to a replacement storage system for Channel 4 addressing end of life issues. Installed Diva solution and managed data migration. Migrated 5 PetaBytes of data with no impact to live operations and simplified the client charging model.• Managed the consolidation of old DivArchive infrastructure fabric consisting of 2 Brocade Silkworm switches, in conjunction with the move of the Diva and Tape library infrastructure onto newly purchased Brocade DC4xs switches.• Relocated Diva server infrastructure of 24 servers to a new location to provide much needed space in the data hall for a new client. Relocation was achieved with minimum downtime for the live Diva Manager and provided additional capacity in the data hall.• Managed the consolidation of 5 end of life tape libraries into a single enterprise solution. Specified the technical solution, project managed infrastructure implementation and managed the data migration to new tape libraries. • Specified and installed new SL8500 tape library reducing business support costs and rate card costs to customers and greatly reducing archive infrastructure downtime. • Successfully provided protection to newly purchased SL8500 tape library/server infrastructure during critical building work. Managed the installation and on-going monitoring of positively pressurised tents to eliminate contamination within a class 8 clean room environment.

Engaged as Principle Engineer, responsible for supporting the DivArchive and TSM tape based archiving/backups for Red Bee Media clients, reporting to the Infrastructure Manager. Provided supported for the day to day running of the archiving systems and responsible for fault finding and diagnosis of Diva/TSM problems. Performed routine maintenance of tape infrastructure including replacing drives, library IO blades and port replacement.• Implemented a reporting system for trending and charging clients for capacity use on a DivArchive system. Extracted data daily from Diva, implemented data storage system using XMLDOM and created web front using Google Charting driven by ASP and JavaScript.• Successfully managed the upgrade of TSM from version 5 to 6 and installed new server infrastructure coordinating downtime with clients. Installed version 6, performed database extraction and conversion with new TSM successfully operational on live server. • Installed 3 tape libraries for Channel 4 to provide archive storage driven by TSM and Ardome using TSM LAN free archiving via Storage Agents.• Managed upgrade of Quantum Scalar 10K library from LT02 to LT05 drives for a new 1PB archive provision for BT Sport.• Delivered upgrade of Quantum tape library from i2000 to i6000 in order to upgrade from LTO2 to LTO5 drive and tapes for UKTV archive expansion. • Managed upgrade of DivArchive from version 6.0 to 6.3, bringing online extra data movers (Actors) for UKTV archive expansion and enabling Diva support of LTO5 drives• Successfully managed move and install of Quantum i6000 tape library to C4 DR site from RedBee Broadcast Centre.
