Ascent Media - Operations Engineer. I was responsible for maintaining the operational integrity of 2 Disney Channels, providing first & second line support. I also assisted the Transmission controller in providing a manual backup service of all programs & breaks. In June 2002 The UKBTV Disney Contract was undertaken by CTV along with my employment under TUPE regulations.Corinthian Television Facilities (CTV) - Transmission Engineer.My main responsibility was to maintain the operational integrity of 5 transmission suites and all broadcast equipment, transmitting 8 channels to England and Scandinavia. I worked as part of a team and built the first tape-less environment in Europe, providing all levels of engineering support for the facility. Responsible for an Assistant Engineer and all equipment within post-production.Duties included Assisting Editors with technical problems, Preparing Omfi material on Avid suites for the sound engineer, Covering the transfer department when necessary, Implementing and working on new projects which included building several PC video-editing machines, and an outside broadcast unit for use in America. I also designed and installed a VMP Inscriber system, which was connected to two online edit suites.

South Of England

I covered the south of England, maintaining and installing environmental control systems for severely disabled people, this involved programming and configuring via Windows NT, Windows 98 and Ms Dos. The systems worked via infrared technology, radio communication and were hard wired in some cases. Prior to installation, I had to do a case conference to assess the person’s needs, I then planned out how the system would be installed and configured.
