David is degreed in petroleum technology and geology with a background in the petroleum and environmental industries. David duties in the petroleum industry consisted of well-site and exploration geology, drilling, completion and production supervision. Additionally, David has owned and managed drilling, completion and operation companies and as an independent geologist performed prospect generation. Additionally, David has spent 30 years in the environmental business where he started as an environmental specialist performing Phase I, II, and III environmental assessments. These duties consisted of project management for site assessment, soil sampling for contamination, monitoring well installation and sampling, and remediation of contaminated sites. In that sector David had certifications to install water wells, lead inspection, as well as being a registered professional geologist.From 1998 to 2011 David collaborated in waste reduction initiatives and performed services for many companies in the automotive industry, such as, General Motors, Chrysler, Honda, Subaru, Nissan, Federal Mogul, Waste Management and Heritage Environmental. While owner and president of Mobile Fluid Recovery, Inc. David developed a patented systems to recycle solvent wipers and absorbents into vehicle parts for Chrysler and General Motors. During this time David received General Motors 2004 "We Care Award" and 2011 "Environmental Excellence Award" given to only one company per year. Also, Chrysler awarded David the International "Environmental Excellence Award" in years 2001 and 2005. Also, in collaboration with Federal Mogul, David developed the patented "QuietShield" and "ProtexxShield" product for sound deadening applications for the automotive industry. QuietShield is made from Asian cardboard scrap that is challenging to recycle in conventional paper recycling processes. QuietShield headliner was first installed in the GM 2010 Buick LaCrosse.In April 2010, David and John Bradburn of General Motors together, collaborated with GM, BP, Waste Management and Heritage Environmental to employ David's mobile centrifuge services to process the retrieved polypropylene absorbent boom from the Deep-Water Horizon petroleum release into parts for the GM Chevy Volt. Starting in the summer of 2021 David joined the OFX Ecosystems team to help develop carbon reduction sustainability initiatives.
