I have always been a healthy and active individual. I began swimming at the age of 5 and started competing at 8, becoming the Yorkshire Breaststroke Champion when I was 9. Since then I have competed at a regional and national level and competed at commonwealth trails. I have also competed in BMX racing and becoming a British champion at the age of 11. Performing at such a high level allowed me to complete an Advanced Level Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence in the Active Leisure and Learning Sector. This gave the experience of having to maintain specialised sporting equipment, time management, organising advanced nutrition and delegation of tasks based on importance. I am a well organised, self-motivated individual with excellent communication skills at all levels and have the ability to work as part of a team or use my own initiative to complete the task. I have a caring, patient attitude which I use to deliver outstanding customer service. I have completed studying for a degree in Exercise and Sport Science at Manchester Metropolitan University. My previous employment, voluntary work and education, has made me understand the need to develop my knowledge and experiences. During my time at university I participated in a week of work experience at the Bradford Royal Infirmary and St James Hospital. While there I worked in the different physiotherapy wards and saw the different techniques used in rehabilitation. I have also volunteered at a primary school helping to make display boards for different subjects in class rooms and around the school. I have also led activity sessions for classes.
