GSI specializes in searching for and recovering children, adults, veterans and active duty military personnel who have been reported missing. Many of these individuals experience serious mental health and medical issues that require immediate attention. GSI identifies local resources to assist the individual once recovered. These resources include but are not limited to suicide intervention, drug and alcohol intervention, medical treatment, mental health services, transportation, temporary lodging, faith-based counseling services, etc.

Team Rubicon’s primary mission is providing disaster relief to those affected by natural disasters, be they domestic or international. By pairing the skills and experiences of military veterans with first responders, medical professionals, and technology solutions, Team Rubicon aims to provide the greatest service and impact possible.By focusing on underserved or economically-challenged communities, Team Rubicon seeks to makes the largest impact possible. Disasters represent a massive financial cost, and by providing immediate relief work, free of cost, TR aims to help communities begin recovery sooner.

Wilderness Search & Rescue of lost/missing persons. Teaching preventative search and rescue education, safe hiking, and land navigation techniques on Oahu and neighbor islands.

Serves as a Forward Observer in support of full spectrum combat operations; planning, synchronizing, and execution of lethal and non-lethal fires in company, battalion, and brigade operations to include indirect fires, attack aviation assets, close air support, civil affairs, information operations, psychological operations, and electronic warfare. Prepares and maintains fire support situation maps, status charts, capability overlays, and other fire support and target processing records. Assists in preparation and dissemination of fire support plans, coordinating documents, and target lists and provides liaison support. Reads maps and makes map entries, performs map reconnaissance, uses laser range finders, determines target location, operates radios and satellite phones, performs patrol duty, administers first aid. Leads and supervises subordinates in fire support procedures, techniques, and tactics, and supervision of section operations, maintenance, and training.

Training and experience as a member of a foreign military Mobile Training Team/Embedded Training Team, deployed to provide support of Combatant Command Security Force Assistance and Security Cooperation programs. Assists in Partner Nation development in basic to intermediate level skills inherent to internal security and stability.

Identifies hazards to people, property, and mission. Assesses hazards by determining the potential loss and cost that could result from the identified risks based on probability and severity. Develops courses of action that eliminated hazards or reduced their risks. Implements controls that eliminated the hazards or reduced their risks through verbal or written orders, standard operating procedures, performance standards, safety briefings, and rehearsals. Supervises and evaluates the controls and workers' understanding of the standards.

Supports coordinating and administering the Fleet Quality Assurance Program IAW COMFLTFORCOMINST 4790.3 series, Volume V, within the work centers. Trains prospective Quality Assurance Inspectors providing a thorough understanding of the requirements and procedures necessary to implement the requirements of the Joint Fleet Quality Assurance Program.

Performs preventive, organizational and intermediate level maintenance on diesel engines and components including pumps, blowers, governors, injectors, cylinders, liners, pistons, connection rods, bearings, crankshaft, vertical drive assembly, lubrication oil, fuel oil, scavenging air, exhaust, starting air, and cooling water systems. Takes readings and makes adjustments required for the proper operation and repair of the engines.

Operates, maintains, and repairs auxiliary equipment, mechanical systems, and air conditioning, shafts, valves, and steering systems; uses test equipment for electrical and electronic maintenance; performs quality inspection and assurance; provides personnel supervision and counseling; provides technical administration. Start-up, air conditioning, and water circulating, oxygen and ventilation, air compressor, vacuum pump, hose assembly, main feed, valves, and steering; adjusts and secures diesel engines; maintains calibration logs; performs laboratory analysis on oil and water samples; provides support for damage control for casualty and oil spills; inspects and adjusts capstans. Performs mechanical maintenance; conducts quality assurance inspections; inspects security alarm systems, heat exchangers, and sea water circulating systems; submits corrective action requests. Identifies factors governing mechanical maintenance, quality assurance, document field changes; verifies and develops procedural documentation.
