As Manager of PFT, I was responsible for providing leadership, training and professional development to my team. I wrote and managed the separate QA systems for PFTI was the NATA signatory for PFT.Key deliverables:• In 2006 PFT had its NATA accreditation suspended. I successfully rewrote the QA system in 2007 gaining accreditation just prior to the sale of PFT to the Crane Group (Iplex Pipelines). I wrote the technical aspects such as error analysis, control systems to ensure chain of custody, reducing data errors, safe production of test pieces, archiving and staff training. I developed a control system based on an Excel spread sheet that would automate decision making and reduce transposition errors ensuring reliability. • Rewrote the RTO quality system, resulting in a successful audit in 2009. This helped to resolve quality issues with training delivery and record management. It produced a working system rather than a series of forms that met industry compliance requirements but were virtually never used. • I developed a student database utilising Access and VBA, to account for former student records and new data reporting requirements for a national system. This was necessary due to PFT’s role in welder re-accreditation that made commercial systems unacceptable.• Using my technical expertise in PE, I developed a higher level welding course in conjunction with a prime contractor in the Queensland coal seam gas industry, to lift the level of quality assurance of polyethylene pipe welding.• Undertook a Quality Assurance Inspector role in Indonesia, on a large pipe project in 2008.• Successfully mentored 2 staff members undertaking Certificate IV trainer accreditation.
