General responsibilities include the ongoing maintenance, support, bug fixes and feature enhancements to FaktorTel's in house proprietary billing and rebilling system, the primary customer facing website and portal, product ordering system, and payment gateway. Written custom scripts in PHP for monitoring call volumes, PBX voice functionality, call reporting, customer spend statistics, and other various ad-hoc requirements. Familiarity of development with PHPStorm. Maintenance and support of MySQL Cluster which is used for the production database. Virtualisation systems. Familiarity with git, and Stash. Tracking tasks using Jira, and referring to and updating a Confluence wiki. Automation of backup and recovery tasks, the backups being scheduled to run automatically via the use of cron. DDOS mitigation, VPN, mail, help desk software (Cerberus and ConnectWise), as well as general network maintenance with a variety of enterprise data center grade equipment including Cisco, Brocade, Dell servers running Linux and other related networking equipment. PBX maintenance and configuration for hosted PBX as well as support for customer’s trunked PBXs and dialers. Level 3 support escalations are handled, as well as general help desk and level 2 support, including customer end support with networking and voice related equipment, and resolution of trouble tickets using the support ticketing system, as required. In July 2015, OverTheWire acquired FaktorTel, and since then I have been involved with the migration many of FakorTel’s key systems over to OverTheWire’s infrastructure.
