Exercised executive authority over the selection, planning, direction and control of multiple Independent Research and Development projects totaling approximately $71M. Directed the preparation and submission of project plans, schedules, budget, financial reports, and technical reports. Managed a matrixed staff of about 60 personnel directly and 45 personnel of various departments. Liaison with customers that included Navy programs, private industry, and University laboratories.Analyzed and designed technical product enhancements, integrating the work of research and development, manufacturing, marketing, sales, and service functions for all or part of potential product or product lines. Provided technical consultation to field personnel and customers during the early life cycle of new product lines. Provided product consultation to research and development in the design stage. Planned, prepared, and presented product introduction strategies. Participated in the marketing, forecasting and financial aspects of the product.
