The Suffolk and North East Essex Integrated Care Board (the ICB) brings together partners responsible for planning and delivering health and care across Suffolk and North East Essex to ensure shared leadership and joint action to improve the health and wellbeing of the one million people who live locally.As an independent Partner member for an NHS ICB, I represent the voice and perspective of primary care in Suffolk. As a voting member of the ICB Board I work collaboratively to shape the long-term, viable plan for the delivery of the functions, duties and objectives of the ICB and for the stewardship of public money, particularly bringing the voice and perspective of primary care. I ensure that the Board is effective in all aspects of its role and appropriately focused on the four core purposes, to: improve outcomes in population health and healthcare; tackle inequalities in outcomes, experience and access; enhance productivity and value for money and help the NHS support broader social and economic development.I champion new governance arrangements, collaborative leadership and effective partnership working, including with local government, NHS bodies and the voluntary sector. I bring independent oversight and constructive challenge to the priorities, plans and performance of the ICB executive team, and promote open and transparent decision-making that facilitates consensus.

I am the GP Lead for Suffolk and North East Essex Training. Our key aim is to establish a local education and training infrastructure to help support the primary care workforce of today and tomorrow to ensure they have the necessary skills, values and behaviours to deliver high quality care. I have a particular interest in supporting General Practice with work force planning, innovation and transformation.
