My team's vision was to transform Microsoft to be a developer company again and our goal was to double the number of developers using Microsoft tools and services. In these years my team partnered closely with Engineering to bring to market some of the most exciting stuff for developers in Microsoft history. We embraced Open Source with .NET Core, went cross-platform with .NET and Visual Studio Code on Linux and Mac, embraced cross-device development with Xamarin's acquisition, launched TypeScript, made Visual Studio free with Visual Studio Community and created a new business with Visual Studio Team Services. Together, we achieved the initial goal in just 2 years, while growing a multi-billion dollar business and increased developer satisfaction and Enterprise share.

After joining Microsoft as a development consultant, I helped kick off the evangelism engine in Spain and later Western Europe. My obsession as an Evangelism Manager was to transform the way marketing was done with developers, from traditional campaigns to an evangelism approach speaking their language and going where they go, joining the communities, scaling online and acting as advocates for developers in Microsoft. Our approaches with developers are now very common in the industry and was the seed of what now it's commonly known as developer advocates in many companies.
