I am currently the Head of Art & Design at Totton College, Southampton. Within my time at Totton College I have produced a dynamic and creative area of learning which offers a range of academic and vocational courses where students can experience studying from level 1 to level 4. There is excellent progression within the department and also onto higher education and employment. Students work meets or exceeds the requirements of their qualifications, learning goals or employment. I ensure that the students feel happy and safe within the department and this is reflected within the on-line student surveys. The department won an award from the ‘Good Schools Guide’ for best results at OCR National Diploma level 3 achieved by girls. Students within my department enjoy learning and make progress relative to their prior attainment and potential. Students throughout the department progress to relevant further or higher education, training or employment and there is an excellent end of year show to showcase learner achievement.
