As Head of LItigation and Regulatory Compliance, I further Postscript's mission to make SMS the #1 Revenue Channel for ecommerce brands. I guide the company on creating state-of-the-art compliance solutions that keep pace with the changing legal and regulatory landscape for SMS marketing solutions. I proactively monitor and engage in policy making efforts on the state and federal level to address issues that impact Postscript and the larger ecommerce ecosystem. When disputes arise, I guide the company in evaluating options and work closely with outside counsel to litigate those disputes.

Guide companies in Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) compliance matters and defend them against allegations of TCPA violations. Counsel technology companies and telecom carriers through a range of business disputes, often against entrenched incumbents and involving new business models and service offerings. Represent carriers in both state and federal courts, as well as before the Federal Communications Commission and state regulatory agencies. His clients include international as well as domestic telecom companies.

As part of a diverse telecommunications and technology practice, served as litigation and regulatory counsel to mhealth companies, mobile phone application developers, local and long distance telephone carriers, conference call providers, fixed and wireless broadband internet providers, and and other entrepreneurial ventures. Litigated telecommunications matters before trial and appellate courts, as well as before regulatory agencies. Served as counsel to Accelerating Market-driven Partnerships (AMP), an international partnership convened by the United States Department of State to tackle social issues through market-based approaches, and participated in a State Department delegation to Brazil to discuss innovation and technology. Provided extensive pro bono counsel to nonprofit organizations, including seven Native American tribes in South Dakota seeking to develop a collective utility-scale wind energy project, which was launched at the Clinton Global Initiative America in June 2013, and to a Chilean human rights organization in matters pending before the Inter-American Commission for Human Rights. Served as lead amici counsel to law enforcement officers and other first responders in appellate cases challenging state prohibitions against marriage equality.

Adjunct faculty member in Pepperdine's Graduate Program in Social Entrepreneurship and Change program at the School of Education and Psychology. Special focus on legal issues related to forming either for profit or nonprofit social enterprises.

Led a partnership with Craigslist Foundation and the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) to research, develop and implement a new online platform to promote greater high-quality service-learning nationwide. Co-led a national conference exploring how technology can catalyze social innovation. Oversaw the Nonprofit Leadership and Social Entrepreneurship Program, a statewide summer residential program to prepare graduate and undergraduate students for a career in the nonprofit sector and as social entrepreneurs. Oversaw a model university-community partnership in the City of Petersburg, Virginia's most economically distressed community. Ensured the organization's legal and regulatory compliance and coordinated with outside counsel.

Advised the Center across a variety of areas, including corporate and government relations, marketing, and public affairs. Directed a reorganization of the Courtroom 21 Project and the launch of the Center for Legal and Court Technology.
