As part of a diverse telecommunications and technology practice, served as litigation and regulatory counsel to mhealth companies, mobile phone application developers, local and long distance telephone carriers, conference call providers, fixed and wireless broadband internet providers, and and other entrepreneurial ventures. Litigated telecommunications matters before trial and appellate courts, as well as before regulatory agencies. Served as counsel to Accelerating Market-driven Partnerships (AMP), an international partnership convened by the United States Department of State to tackle social issues through market-based approaches, and participated in a State Department delegation to Brazil to discuss innovation and technology. Provided extensive pro bono counsel to nonprofit organizations, including seven Native American tribes in South Dakota seeking to develop a collective utility-scale wind energy project, which was launched at the Clinton Global Initiative America in June 2013, and to a Chilean human rights organization in matters pending before the Inter-American Commission for Human Rights. Served as lead amici counsel to law enforcement officers and other first responders in appellate cases challenging state prohibitions against marriage equality.
