Information Technology (It) Teacher - Peace Corps Volunteer

Worked as an IT teacher teaching 60-90 high school aged students within a small rural farming community in Kumawu, Republic of Ghana, West Africa. Assisted in training teachers, high school students, and the community in learning basic computer skills (mouse, typing and the Windows Operating System), MS office (Word, Excel, and Power Point) and computer maintenance. Served as a Peace Corps Volunteer Resource Facilitator and Trainer for incoming Teaching Volunteers. Represented Peace Corps Volunteers as a member of the Volunteer Advisory Council (VAC), a volunteer-run representative body with the goal of promoting open communication between volunteers and Peace Corps Staff. Founding member of the Ghana Student Taking Actions Reaching for Success (STARS) Youth Leadership Conference, which was created to empower and give students the knowledge, confidence and problem-solving skills necessary for a healthy and successful future as students and leaders.
