Marbrook Care & Ardale provide specialist 24-hour nursing and support to adults with complex conditions, and as Head of Finance & IT, I was accountable for overseeing, monitoring and coordinating the successful execution of finance functions including preparing management and statutory reports for multiple entities, property investment and design and build projects. I conceptualised and developed robust financial models to support provision of performance budgets and forecasts and am responsible for leading the implementation of GDPR across the organisation as the assigned Data Protection Officer.

As Finance Manager for this leading UK independent provider of rehabilitation hospital, residential and supported living care, I was accountable for overseeing and coordinating day to day financial functions including statutory and management reporting for a group encompassing over 15 entities including limited companies, partnerships and Jersey holding companies. I was responsible for designing and developing financial models, producing reports to identify areas of underperformance, preparing statutory year end audit processes and managing financial year end including complex group accounts and intercompany matrix. Most notably, I prepared detailed financial forecasts, managed due diligence, finalised accounts and led the post-sale integration process to support the successful sale of the business. In addition, I led the design and implementation of existing HR, payroll and time & attendance systems to eliminate duplication of information and reduce time and errors whilst maximising efficiency and implemented IRIS accounting software to reduce costs, improve accuracy and enhance efficiency.

I was initially appointed as Financial Assistant before being promoted to the role of Management Accountant where I was accountable for producing monthly management accounts and associated reports for the Board of Directors and supported the preparation and analysis of financial forecasts and budgets. I was also responsible for monthly bank account reconciliations, foreign currency transactions, reporting and inventory management, stock receipt processing and providing IT support to the IT Manager. Most notably, I designed and implemented new systems, controls and processes to enhance accuracy of financial information and was instrumental in automating sales commission calculations to increase accuracy and enhance efficiency.In March 2006, I stepped into the position of Financial Controller where I oversaw the day to day running of the finance department and provided effective leadership, direction and support to a team of 5 staff. I produced monthly management accounts and Board reports for meetings, evaluated new opportunities for the business and investments, managed year end statutory processes and oversaw treasury operations. Most notably, I played a key role in planning and executing the company restructure into 2 separate limited companies involving separating accounting systems, finance processes, internal systems and procedures, statutory reporting and management accounting processes.
