In June 2023, David successfully exited his role as President and Investment Committee chair of MRIS Investors, Inc. David is currently a Board Director for Collabra Technology, a digital advertising solutions, marketing automation and analytics platform. David is also an Advisor to Pacaso, a fully managed LLC focusing on second home coownership. He most recently served as Vice President/Director for the Realtor Relief Foundation.From 2000-2017, David served as the President/CEO of MRIS, Inc. one of the nation's largest Multiple Listing Services that facilitated over $60.0B annually in residential real estate transactions. In 2017 MRIS, along with 8 other MLS organizations, merged to form Bright MLS, Inc. where he served as its CSO until 2019. Today, Bright has over 100k subscribers in 6 states and Washington, D.C. and facilitates $140.0B in residential real estate transactions annually. He continues to serve as an executive advisor to Bright.Prior to MRIS, David led an Internet-based business consulting practice serving Fortune 500 clients in apparel, media, sports and real estate. From 1980 to 1997, he managed organizations that successfully defined, marketed and delivered information systems to Real Estate professionals. He has co-authored several white papers on data copyrights and the future of MLS.He is a founding member of COVE and the MLS RoundTable. He is past Chair of CMLS, formerly a Director for the National Association of Realtors, and also served as Chair of the National Broker Portal, the NAR MLS policy committee and as a Director for the REALTORS® Federal Credit Union. David is frequently invited to serve on Association and MLS CEO selection committees.David was recognized by Inman News 11 consecutive years as one of the "Most Influential People in Real Estate." He has repeatedly been recognized by the Swanepoel Power 200 and along with Wes Foster, received its 2018 Visionary Award. David received the inaugural MLS Award Of Excellence from CMLS in 2015 and its Hall of Fame Award in September, 2020. RIS MEDIA awarded David with its National Home Ownership Award in 2015 and received its Hall of Fame Award in 2020.David was inducted into the NAR/Dr. Almon R. Smith Leadership Society in 2012 and is also a member of the RPAC HoF. The Daily Record named David one of the Most Influential Marylanders in 2014 and 2017.Finding it difficult to retire completely, David continues to contribute to the real estate industry via speaking, writing and whispering to people and companies intent on ensuring its continued vitality.
