I am a highly experienced health sector leader with over 23 years as a board director working in large and complex NHS and charitable organisations. I have run large large acute hospitals on a day-to-day basis; led major clinical reconfigurations to improve patient outcomes and increased cancer research out that one of the largest academic health sciences centres in the UK. I have recently worked at the Royal Free Charity and have a thorough understanding of how the charitable sector operates and how fundraising can support the NHS and other public bodies. My leadership style is naturally collaborative, and I am at my most effective when leading outstanding clinical teams, who appreciate the benefits of collaboration, integration and partnership. I have a strong track record of leading the strategic alignment of an NHS trust and its supporting charity, merging two large DGHs, establishing a large cancer network across a challenged health economy and delivering service transformation during a global pandemic.
