From 1996 as IT Manager for the Mathematics and Computing Faculty and since 2007, IT Development Manager for the merged Faculty of Mathematics, Computing and Technology. Managed the Faculty's Domino and other server infrastructure with a senior colleague, and a group of in-house software developers developing Faculty information and web systems with Java, Domino, XML, XPages, PHP and other technologies.Server infrastructure uses Windows server, Linux, Vista, Mac OSX. In 2001, with Mike Taylor of Buckhurst Systems, built a home-grown Document Management system (See: http://MaCuDoc.open.ac.uk). The team developed around 60 applications that support end-users in the Faculty.Also worked closely with http://www.onlinesolutionsltd.co.uk to create content managed and semi-automated websites (e.g. http://www.mcs.open.ac.uk , http://crc.open.ac.uk and http://mct-research.open.ac.uk). IBM Domino used as the standard development workbench allowing team to do remarkable things for clients very quickly. Integrated Domino with other technologies (Web Services, DRUPAL JSON, JSP etc).Retired from the University on 31 March 2014 - available for hire now!Heavily engaged in choral and chapel singing, film history research (http://www.ournavy.org.uk) and discovering more about the web.Specialities: Bass Choral and Solo singer, Document Management, IBM Notes/Domino System Management, User systems management, Web management, Information Management, Web Content Management, Intranet Integration, Web Services.
