I have been actively involved in developing the Departments Provincial Strategic Objective 5 Increasing Safety. As part of the Security Risk Management Chief Directorate work group, I was instrumental in the development of a new model to deal with safety and security. This model deals with safety and security in a holistic manner by including leadership and management as part of the process. The model is a first for the Chief Directorate and will influence how Provincial Departments are engaged in future.I have 23 years’ experience working in government mainly in middle management, within the safety and security environment. I am skilled in strategy development, change management, performance management, leadership management, policy development, financial management, research, training methodology, facilitation and report writing. I am capable of developing processes and policies to ensure that the transversal mandate is implemented and effectively managed within Western Cape Government Departments. I have experience in the design, development and implementation of Performance Management models and monitoring. The model I developed for Traffic Law Enforcement is a holistic model and seven areas are addressed to achieve organizational performance. The areas are Strategy and Vision, Performance Management, Change Management, Organizational Development, Workplace reorganization, Business Process Improvement and Affirmative Development.I believe that I have the necessary skills to develop and implement the necessary measures to ensure that the principles of a learning organization are captured in the organizational culture and that all aspects of performance are monitored ensuring that high levels of service delivery are possible.
