Associate in Venable LLP's Washington, D.C. office and a member of the firm’s Advertising and Marketing and Intellectual Property Practice Groups. David's Venable practice involved assisting clients on a variety of issues, focusing especially on false advertising and unfair competition under federal and state advertising laws. He regularly defended clients in lawsuits brought by consumers, competitors, and regulators in both federal and state courts. David also gained experience representing clients before the National Advertising Division and the Federal Trade Commission, as well as in trademark and copyright disputes.While with Venable, David served as a Vice Chair for the American Bar Association’s Section of Antitrust Law, Federal Civil Enforcement Committee; as the Coordinator of the Section’s Young Lawyer Representative Program; and as a three-term Young Lawyer Representative to the Section’s Advertising Disputes and Litigation Committee.On a pro bono basis, David successfully represented clients before the Social Security Administration’s Office of Disability Adjudication and Review. He also worked on behalf of a bipartisan policy institute to prepare and file an amicus brief in a case involving an Alabama death row inmate seeking habeas relief stemming from deficiencies in Alabama’s indigent defense system.
