David has over 30 years experience within the construction industry, primarily in the disciplines of estimating, quantity surveying, construction claims, project and commercial management. As a Director of Stonehouse Consultants David is commissioned to advise a wide range of clients ranging from sub-contractors, main contractors, developers, architects and cost consultants on numerous in house, contractual and commercial matters.Over the course of his career David has acquired a substantive and in depth working knowledge of all standard forms of Contract / Sub-contract within the UK i.e. JCT, NEC, ICE suites of contract. Such experience has been gained on projects ranging from £200,000.00 to £800,000,000.00 in value across all sectors of the construction industry.Whilst the majority of David's career has been in the UK he has also gained several years experience in working overseas as an expat with various UK & overseas organisations in France, Germany, Belgium, Holland and Hong Kong.David is regularly commissioned by clients to provide ‘in house’ training for their staff on a wide variety of subject matter including cash flow management, management of commercial risk, procurement management, claims avoidance, dispute resolution, critical path analysis, cost control and reporting, change management.
