I am a fully qualified Lead Instrument Technician with over 15 years working in a variety of roles within Offshore, Power generation and natural gas supply industries. I have extensive experience working with instrument, control, F&G and ESD systems and have gained a wide range of experience in commissioning, preventative/corrective maintenance and decommissioning of all Oil & gas and Instrumentation systems. I am currently working as Lead Instrument technician on Shells Brent Alpha platform and have been in a variety of roles within the Brent contract over the last 7 years including; Scheduler, Maintenance supervisor and standing in as platform TCI (Technical Custodian Instruments). Accountable for the pre-planning/ safe execution of all Instrument maintenance/ corrective activities in accordance with maintenance schedules including maintenance/fault finding on platform F&G safety systems and work on ESD systems as well as routine/fault finding on all platform Instrumentation including pressure, temperature, level, flow, gas analysers and platform deluge systems. Carrying out commissioning of all new instrumentation systems from engineering work packs through to site acceptance testing. This last year I have taken the lead in carrying out full commissioning and site acceptance testing of the new platform accommodation instrumentation. This included installing and commissioning of new F&G systems and ESD systems including damper control systems. This also included taking control of engineering work packs and as-building all drawings. I have recently overseen the installation and commissioning of a new F&G visualisation project. This involved coordination of multiple vendor work scopes working on 2 separate F&G systems and tying into the main platform ESD system with continued process operation and minimal downtime. This upgrade now allows the control room operator full visualisation across to separate F&G systems (Drager and ICS).

Overall responsibility for creating and managing the platform integrated maintenance schedule. Responsibility for all work preparation, scheduling and execution carried out safely and efficiently while adhering to Shell standards and procedures with an overall objective of minimising plant downtime and maximising platform resources. Working with all heads of department to ensure key performance indicators and safety are priority. Ensuring robust maintenance schedule identifies safety critical elements (SCE’s) and any jobs not carried out on time are identified, risk assessed and planned in at the earliest opportunity to meet performance standards and provide evidence of continued adherence to platform safety case. Accountable for the "deep dive" of weekly and monthly KPI's (to identify learning's and areas for improvement) and provide weekly feedback to onshore maintenance delivery manager on key indicators such as schedule compliance, CM/PM compliance, corrective maintenance backlog, SCE deviation management/reduction and estimating accuracy of corrective work orders. Responsible for co-ordination of vendor support requirements with onshore support engineer.
