I'm a comms guy. I do comms shit. So like, media engagement, comms strategies, crisis comms. I'm very good at that. I also do swears. I don't do suits and ties. You may want to work with someone who wears suits and ties, and that's fine. But I don't dress up for many people. I write. I've been a columnist for the Herald and Stuff. I guess when I say I'm a comms guy, that's not quite accurate. Because I think what me and my friends at Draper Cormack Group do isn't just help people communicate, it's help them be understood. There's a massive difference between what you think you're saying versus what your audience hears and takes away. We are super good at that. Our superpower is understanding how your audience will react and emote over what you communicate to them.And audience means people consuming news-media, reading social media, and internal to your organisation too.
