Established in 1949, the New Zealand Planning Institute (NZPI) is the home of planning in New Zealand with 11 branches in New Zealand and overseas. As part of a dynamic, varied and challenging profession, our growing membership of over 2000 members are involved in strategic planning initiatives and implementation of urban and rural plans.The NZPI has evolved since 1949 and is now a complex organisation that delivers extensive training, networking opportunities, advocacy, real time planning news, mentoring, professional standards monitoring, accreditation of tertiary planning education in NZ and good practice guidance through the Quality Planning resource.

AK Hockey is the largest hockey association in New Zealand serving in excess of 5,200 members. With 7 paid staff, and in excess of 100 volunteers, it offers both summer and winter competitive and social leagues, a representative age group program spanning under 13 years to Masters (over 55), and hosts national and international tournaments and test series at its purpose built facilities in Lloyd Elsmore Park. AK Hockey also operates a successful development program, bridging athlete development from club through to the national level.Responsibilities- Organisational leadership- Strategic and operational plan development, execution and review- Complex stakeholder relationship management- P&L and Balance Sheet responsibility- Financially sustainable growth in awareness and participation- Delivery of quality competitions, athlete development, representative programs and special events- Sponsor identification and engagement- Staff recruitment and development- Capital asset development and management- Board reporting

Parachute Events runs multiple music events annually including concerts, tours, regional artist training seminars and the Parachute Festival, which attracts approximately 25,000 attendees for 4 days of music and entertainment. It is one of the largest music events in the southern hemisphere, featuring 125 local and international artists, utilises a crew of 1200 volunteers and attracts commercial sponsors such as ‘V’, Sanitarium, Coca Cola, Vodafone and Hamilton City Council. Parachute Events is a business unit of Parachute Music, a not-for-profit organisation.Responsibilities- Development and execution of strategic, operational and marketing plans and budgets- Delivery of multiple events including the Parachute Festival- Sponsor engagement, management and activation- Media representative for events, working with national television, radio and print channels- P&L responsibility for Events business unit- Staff, volunteer and partner recruitment, management and development- Risk management, including financial risk inherent in events- Expansion into Australia with concerts, artist training and event partnerships- Corporate communication management

The Fleet and Fuel business unit manages over 16,000 vehicles for local government, central government and corporate clients and operates 100,000 private label charge cards for consumers and card partners. The business unit has 40 staff located in offices in Auckland, Wellington and ChristchurchResponsibilities- Strategic development of the Fleet and Fuel business units- P&L responsibility- Forecasting, operational management and board reporting- Management of administrative, sales, marketing and specialist fleet staff in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch- Management of 3 internal call centres with external overflow support- Expansion of operations including client growth and new product/service development- Process and systems development, implementation and review

The Records and Publishing business units worked with local musicians and songwriters, assisting their career development while seeking international market opportunities for the creative projects they produced. This included the promotion and distribution of locally produced content into North, Central and South America, Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia.Responsibilities- Local and international strategic development and growth of Parachute Records and Parachute Publishing business units- Business unit P&L responsibility- Artist management and development- Management of international partners, agents and distributors- International market identification and development- Capital project delivery
