I was responsible for the mechanical design, manufacture and field testing of a novel geophysical probe and associated surface equipment for the mining industry. The probe used lidar and visible/hyperspectral radiation sensors to map ore location with respect to hole geometry. The prototype was successfully deployed at a NSW coal mine without any faults or safety concerns. I also designed components and assemblies for other projects, including an underground light housing and adjustable mount, hyperspectral camera housing and mounts, and re-engineering of a pan tilt unit for increased load capacity.
