Most recently I worked on the Inverness Flood Alleviation Project, having the responsibility for the diversion and upgrading of the existing 18" low pressure cast, ductile and steel gas mains to 400mm Polyethylene mains including large diameter valve installation; testing, branch drilling and flow stopping operations. I worked alongside a large range of complimenting commercial contractors and Local Authority engineers.Within my role I regularly construct, install, pressure test and commission / decommission pipelines in a range of diameters, from 20mm to 640mm (PE) and 1" to 18" (cast, ductile and steel). I have extensive experience of working in emergency situations within my industry, often working to 24 hour standby rotations. I also am greatly experienced in working within gaseous atmospheres using BA gear, confined space entry, and working at heights; many of these jobs are completed on a permit to work basis. Some of the qualifications gained during my employment at SGN include: winching operations, fire control, first aid, Pasma scaffolding, P.U.W.E.R & L.O.L.E.R-Employees and SCO 1,2,4,5 Authorising Engineer, (which allows me to issue permits to work). I also hold COSHH-Employees certification.
