With over 20 years of experience in air navigation services, I am a passionate and dedicated leader who strives to provide safe, efficient, regulatory compliant, and cost-effective air navigation services across the HIAL airport group. As the Head of Air Navigation Services, I oversee and direct the delivery of air navigation services at 11 airports, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance. I also collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, such as the Civil Aviation Authority, the Air Traffic Managemen, the Safety and Compliance Team, and airport managers, to ensure alignment and coordination of air navigation services with the strategic objectives and operational needs of the organisation. I am motivated by the mission and vision of HIAL, which is to provide vital air connectivity and economic benefits to the remote and rural communities of Scotland, and to support the transition to a low-carbon and sustainable aviation industry. I bring diverse perspectives and experiences to the team, as I have worked in various roles and locations within the air navigation services domain. In my current role, I utalise my skills and expericence in ANS, airspace management, operations management, and air traffic control to ensure the delivery of high-quality air navigation services. I am responsible for developing and implementing policies, procedures, and standards for air navigation services, as well as managing the budget, resources, and staff of the Air Navigation Services department. I’m also accountable for overall training, assessment, and competency of all ATS staff.I have successfully , sponsored, led and supported numerous projects and initiatives within the ANS domain as well as driving organisational change.
