I am responsible for all the plant operators with Alun Griffiths Contractors in regards to there training and competency, not only the employees but the sub-contractors as well. With Alun Griffiths employees I work with every individual to ensure they are trained and tested to operate the plant they use, I offer a range of assessment from In-house, CPCS, NVQ's, Quickhitch, Excavators used for lifting and even tool box talks. These methods allow the candidates to learn from a very basic level and work towards the CPCS competent operator level. As a growing company Alun Griffiths also provides work to a number of sub- contractors and agency workers which I work very closely with, I ensure that the plant operators we use hold the relevant training, qualifications and have the experience to complete the tasks being asked safely, I do this by ensuring they hold a CPCS card with the relevant categories and carrying out my own competency check on the individual for the relevant categories. I thoroughly enjoy my job with Alun Griffiths contractors getting to know a range of interesting people all over wales and the border areas, and knowing tomorrow's work will always be different to today's.
