David Day is an industrial-organizational psychologist with a focus on leadership and leadership development. He has held previous academic appointments at LSU (Psychology), Penn State (Psychology), Singapore Management University (OBHR), and University of Western Australia Business School (chaired position in leadership).David is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association, Association for Psychological Science, International Association of Applied Psychology, and the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology.After dropping out of college in his sophomore year of college, he went to work at Ford Motor Company as an unskilled laborer in the Cleveland Engine and Casting plants (1976-1983). He finished his B.A. degree as a part-time student at a small liberal arts college where a class in I-O psychology opened his life to a future career in work psychology. David is fond of saying that a liberal arts education saved his life, which partly explains his current position at Claremont McKenna.He is the author of a forthcoming book titled "Developing Leaders and Leadership: Principles, Practices, and Processes" (Palgrave Macmillan).Goal: Make a difference.
