The Reno Cigar Lions Club (RCL) was established in June, 2006. RCL's focus project is to procure, refurbish and distribute (at no cost to the recipient) computers with open source operating system, browser and office productivity software to qualifying young people seeking to further their education.Recipients of computers from the Computers for Kids Program include young people in the K - 16 age group currently residing within the Truckee Meadows, students of an accredited Nevada school (including home schooled or church school), students seeking alternative education opportunities (GED, etc.) and young people and students meeting the above criteria who cannot otherwise afford to purchase computers for themselves.

The Education Alliance is a non-profit, 501(c) 3 organization created by civic and business leaders in partnership with educators to support all students in Washoe County. Fundraising through the Alliance directly impacts Washoe County School District educational goals while P-16 programs focus on academic achievement, community partnerships, and workforce development.Education Alliance Mission:To foster education excellence in Washoe County through a community and education partnership that provides leadership, advocacy, programming and targeted financial support.
