Responsibilities include writing mix instruction, designing tank layouts (Solidworks), 5S, and installing or improving manufacturing equipment and process. The bulk of my work has been designing tank assembly diagrams to simplify the cleaning and re-assembly process.

I was responsible for improving process in the assembly areas. The bulk of my work involved 5S strategy, and making engineering changes to equipment or layout. The projects focused on safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and cost. Most of my layout designs were developed in Autodesk CAD software, while equipment modifications were done in Solidworks. As a process engineer we were involved in managing and organizing tools for daily operations. The SOP’s & TWI usually were written by the process engineers. If there was work that required contractors to come to the facility we were responsible for acquiring and comparing quotes, writing purchase requisitions, and scheduling the visit.

Straight out of college, Eastman was a promising company to get my foot in the door of Private Industry and see the world as an engineer. While working as a Intern I learned what it meant to work safely and cohesively with in the company. I was given many responsibility including analyzing data, creating temporary work instructions, improving static preventive practices, and root cause analyst.
