I am an engineering technology educator and advisor for both traditional students and incumbent workers. I have over twenty years of experience in managing and facilitating workshops and traditional academic courses in the areas of automation, digital communications, industrial safety, as well as best practices in adult learning. I am a lifelong learner with over 1000 hours of professional development activities with more than 20 industry recognized certificates and a number of teacher education certificates. As a team member of SCALE (Southern Center for Active Learning). I have lead workshops on active/cooperative learning locally at Patrick & Henry Community College and throughout the nation presenting at community colleges in Ohio, Texas, Arkansas, North Carolina, Virginia, Oregon and Michigan. I have co-presented at NADE, AMATYC and at the VCCS New Horizons conferences on topics in cooperative learning, the flipped classroom, assessment and the VCCS developmental math redesign. I have served as the PI on a New to ATE-NSF grant and subsequently sat on NSF grant proposal review panels in 2018 and 2019.
