I really considered doing this with AI, but I figured let’s stick with the old fashioned. I’ve worked in various magazine outlets as a freelance and staff writer, which then led me to education where I took a role as a pastoral TA and Music Teacher for KS1 and KS2. After this I decided to live life on the edge and blew all my savings to go and travel the East Coast of America. I didn’t even make a LinkedIn post about how this changed my life which if you ask me, is pretty impressive. I then landed at Barclays, and worked in customer for 5 years. From branch, to a Covid branch (we all remember that right?) to business banking. The world of customer service taught me a lot, and mainly that the customer isn’t always right. The customer however is at the heart of everything we do at Barclays, so we need to make sure our processes are easy and smooth for them. From this I went to work in a Content Production team, updating and creating various pages on the Barclays Website but in particular around the Smart Investor proposal. Luckily, two weeks before I was due to go back to customer service I was given an opportunity to produce engaging content within Customer and Digital. This is where I now sit and aim to make the biggest impact for our colleague communications! (I also run quite good quizzes, ask my boss)
